ROCHESTER, NY – The Rowan men's track team added another championship to its list of accomplishments as it won the team title at the All-Atlantic Indoor Track & Field Regional Championships (AATFRC) hosted by Nazareth College.
The Profs totaled 98 points in the team standings to outdistance Geneseo (72) and Cortland (66.5) as Rowan continued its streak of having won every AATFRC meet since its inception.
Nana Agyemang and
Ahmir Johnson finished one-two in the long jumps, with marks that put them at fifth (7.33m) and 13th (7.25m) in the NCAA in that event. Agyemang also set a new facility record in the process and Johnson broke the facility record in winning the triple jump in 14.92m.
Marquise Young won the 60m hurdles (8.18) with a time that moves him up to 12th in the NCAA.
Rowan's 4x200 relay (
Robert McKinney, Agyemang,
Amara Conte,
Jah'mere Beasley) won in 1:27.45 which was a new NCAA DIII record as well as the Profs eclipsed the record they held and set a new one for the school, meet and the facility.
The distance medley relay also captured a victory in the meet, running 10:07.72 with the team of
Jacob Riley, Conte,
Jake Kolodziej and
Kevin Lauer.
Riley in the mile (4:17.05) and
Justin Kelly in the 3,000 (8:32.69) both hit new PRs in their events.
The meet served as the final one before the NCAA Championships, with the Profs' entire list of qualifiers to come for the meet that runs on March 11-12 in Winston-Salem, NC.
