GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan scored four of the game's last five goals, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit, as Scranton defeated the Profs, 13-7, in women's lacrosse action this evening at the Rowan Soccer & Lacrosse Complex.
 
Ashley Lechliter had a season-high four goals for Rowan (2-5), with Elise Cohan, Julianna Corson and Erin Scioli chipping in with one apiece.
 
Leading 5-3 at halftime, Scranton (3-4) broke open the game in the third quarter as it scored five goals while holding the Profs scoreless. The Royals kept the streak going in the fourth quarter by netting the first two to take a 12-3 lead.
 
Rowan scored four goals in the final five minutes, with Lechliter scoring at 5:05 followed by Scioli's goal at 3:23, her first of the season. Scranton added one more to its total before the Profs picked up two in the final 33 seconds, another one from Lechliter, which was assisted by Michaela Donnelly, and a goal from Cohan with 14 seconds to play.  
 
Scranton scored four of the game's first five goals, with Rowan's Corson recording one in between. Lechliter netted one more for the Profs before the end of the first quarter to pull the home team within 4-2.
 
The teams scored a goal apiece in the second quarter, with Lechliter tallying again for Rowan as Scranton held a 5-3 lead at halftime.
 
Rowan will be at home again on Saturday when it takes on Eastern at noon.
