WINSTON-SALEM, NC – In the first day of the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, Rowan excelled in the preliminaries and had a place winner in the long jump.
Nana Agyemang placed sixth in the long jump to earn All-American status as the freshman hit 7.23 meters in his first attempt.
Ahmir Johnson was 11th in the event as well (6.89 meters).
In the preliminaries, the Profs made sure there will be competitors in the finals on Saturday.
Jah'mere Beasley qualified for the 200 meter finals as he ran his second-fastest time (21.63) to finish second in the prelims.
The top-ranked 4x400 relay team of
Marquise Young, Beasley,
Charlie Serrano-Juarez, and
Amara Conte punched its ticket to the finals after finishing third (3:19.00).
Young ran an 8.19 in the 60 meter hurdles, but missed out on the finals finishing in ninth place.
Conte was 13th in the 400 meter prelims, clocking in at 50.04, where he was 13th and
Jake Kolodziej was 19th in the 800 meter prelims (2:02.26).
Action concludes tomorrow with Profs in the finals in the following events:
- Men's 200 meter finals (Beasley) – 4:20 p.m,
- Men's 4x400 relay – 5:15 p.m.
