SALISBURY, MD -- Rowan faced top-ranked Salisbury, and fell, 15-7, in the Profs' first road game of the year.Â
Ashley Lechliter netted two goals while
Julianna Corson added a score and an assist but the Profs (1-1) had trouble finding their footing after falling behind 7-2 after the first quarter.
Elise Cohan,
Jamie Cutrera,
Chloe Shea, and
Shannen Sterner also scored for Rowan.
Hannah Lombardo led the squad with three groundballs while Cohan wrangled up three draw controls.
In goal,
Mel Rodgers came in for starter
Reilly Shaup and finished with six saves, while Shaup totaled one on the day.
Cutrera's goal in the first minute of the game gave the Profs an early 1-0 lead. Salisbury netted five in a row over a seven-minute span to jump ahead. The home team led 13-3 at the half.
For the Sea Gulls, Erin Scannell had a game-high four goals with teammate Lydia Cavallaro scoring three.
The Profs look to rebound on Saturday when they head to Hoboken to take on Stevens in a 1 p.m. start.
