GLASSBORO, NJ -- The Rowan Women's Track & Field Team was in action in two events on Saturday. A handful of Profs traveled to Ithaca College for the Bomber Invitational while others headed to Alvernia University for the Plex Shootout. There was no team scoring at both events. Here are some highlights from today's action.
Bomber Invitational (FINAL RESULTS)
Molly Lodge,
Promise Fadahunsi, and
Makayla Taylor all took home first-place finishes for the Profs
Lodge claimed a first and second place in two individual events and added a third place in the 4x400 relay. Lodge won the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.47 in the finals and later took the 200 meters in 26.37. Both times hit an AARTFC qualifying marks as well.
Promise Fadahunsi took first in the 60 meters (7.92), after improving her 8.01 mark in the preliminaries.
Taylor turned in a season-best performance in winning the shot put with a top result of 12.41 meters.
The two relay teams had good showings as well. The 4x200 relay of Fadahunsi,
Kat Pedersen,
Sha'Lynn Clarke, and
Katelyn Sprague finished second (1:50.20). Lodge was part of the 4x400 relay along with Pedersen, Clarke, and
Jasmine Broadway to take third overall (4:15.25).
Plex Shootout (FINAL RESULTS)
Nicole Notarianni was runner-up in the 60 meter hurdles, clocking in at a season-best 9.21 in the finals. The senior also placed 12th in the 200 meters, clocking her third-fastest time in the event (27.71).
Emma Amilcare just missed out of a top 15 finish in the 400 meters, placing 16th (1:07.27).
Carley Tool (5:46.34),
Madison Edwards (5:47.23) and
Julianne Ferraro (5:48.52) finished 13th, 14th, and 15th respectively in the mile run.
The women's team heads up to New England next weekend for the Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Friday, February 11th.
