GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan's Men's Track & Field Team took part in two events on Saturday. Several Profs headed to Ithaca College for the Bomber Invitational while others made the trek to Alvernia University for the Plex Shootout. There was no team scoring at both events. Here are some highlights from the day's action.
Bomber Invitational (
FINAL RESULTS)
The Profs went 1-2 in the long jump as
Nana Agyemang (7.09 meters) and
Ahmir Johnson (7.03 meters) bot hit AARTFC marks in the process. Johnson added a top mark in the triple jump (14.28 meters) to claim first place.
Agyemang teamed up with
Charlie Serrano-Juarez,
Jah'mere Beasley and
Amara Conte to win the 4x400 relay in an AARTFC time of 3:21.40. Conte placed second in the 400 meters (49.68) as well.
Justin Kelly won the 3000 meters clocking in at 8:46.06.
Kevin Lauer (4:17.32) and
Jacob Riley (4:20.61) finished second and fourth respectively in the mile run. All three hit AARTFC marks.
Plex Shootout (
FINAL RESULTS)
Matthew Conway took second place in the 3000 meters (8:58.02) while
Cameron DiTroia was second in the 5000 meters (16:03.24).
In the pole vault, the Profs had three in the top 10.
Jason Tomaino (4.20 meters) was third,
Nick Rossi (4.05 meters) was fifth, with
Eric Byrne (3.75 meters) took seventh.
Next weekend the team in action in two events. On Friday, the Profs will go to the FastTrack National Invite at Ocean Breeze on Friday before heading to Boston University on Saturday for the Valentine Invitational.
