2022 ROWAN REWIND VIDEO
GLASSBORO, NJ - The calendar year of 2022 was a banner one for Rowan Athletics, with a total of 10 conference team championships and three team regional titles while the Profs were represented in 12 NCAA Championships, whether by teams or individual qualifiers. The Fall of 2022 was even more impressive as Rowan captured five championships, including four in one weekend, an unprecedented feat in the history of the NJAC. Rowan was also the only school in NCAA Division III to capture all four conference titles in the sports of volleyball, field hockey, women's soccer and men's soccer.

Individually, the program had five NCAA champions and saw 33 student-athletes earn All-America honors, while Prof student-athletes earned numerous conference and regional honors.

Men's Basketball: The Profs reached the NJAC title game, but were edged by Stockton, 95-91, in a conference classic. Rowan received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and was defeated by Susquehanna in the first round played at Christopher Newport. Marcellus Ross received NABC All-District honors while he and Andrew Seager earned spots on the All-NJAC Team.
Women's Basketball: Rowan was the number-two seed in the NJAC Tournament and hosted the quarterfinals and the semifinals before falling to eventual champion NJCU. Nicole Mallard, Dakota Adams and Grace Marshall received All-Conference recognition.
Women's Swimming & Diving: Rowan won its 14th NJAC title and the fifth in the last six seasons, while finishing third at the Metropolitan Championships. A total of 10 Profs were named to the All-Conference Teams, headed by Rookie of the Year Bella Stefanowicz.
Men's Swimming & Diving: Kevin Gillooly closed out his career on top as the NCAA Champion in the 50-yard freestyle, becoming the fourth individual national champion in school history, and the first since 2017. The Profs won their 18th NJAC title in the program's history and fifth in the last six seasons, while placing second at the Met Championships. Rowan placed 12 swimmers on the All-Conference Teams headed by Gillooly, the Swimmer of the Year, and Brad Bowser, the Coach of the Year.
Women's Indoor Track & Field: The Profs garnered a second-place finish at the NJAC Championships helped by the record-setting performance of Makayla Taylor in the weight throw. Taylor took home the title while setting the championship record and being named the Outstanding Field Athlete, heading a group of 18 student-athletes to receive All-Conference recognition.
Men's Indoor Track & Field: The 4x400 relay claimed the NCAA Championship with a lineup of Marquise Young, Nana Agyemang, Jah'mere Beasley and Amara Conte, while the Profs finished 12th in the team standings. That followed a seventh consecutive NJAC title as the Profs dominated the conference honors, with Amara Conte (Outstanding Track Athlete), Ahmir Johnson (Outstanding Field Athlete), Nana Agyemang (Rookie of the Year) and Dustin Dimit (Coach of the Year) winning the marquee awards, and 17 Profs being named All-Conference.
Women's Lacrosse: The Profs reached the NJAC Championship game for the third time in the last four years, as it rode a six-game winning streak into the finals. Freshman Molly Green was rewarded for her outstanding season as she became the first Prof to earn the NJAC Rookie of the Year award, while heading a list of five Rowan selections to the All-Conference Team.
Softball: Rowan won its 11th conference title, and the first since 2018, when it defeated TCNJ in exciting fashion, with a walk-off win in the NJAC Championship. The Profs made their return to the NCAA Championship and advanced to the Championship Series in the NCAA Regional at Tufts. Emily August was named the NJAC Pitcher of the Year with Kim Wilson receiving her eighth conference Coach of the Year award. Wilson made it a milestone year, notching her 900th career win and ended 2022 with the announcement of her inclusion in the Class of 2023 for the NFCA Hall of Fame.
Baseball: The Profs were the top seed in the NCAA Annville Regional, and captured the title to advance to their second straight Super Regional, before falling to the eventual national champion Eastern Connecticut State. Rowan, which was ranked in the nation's top 10 all season long, captured the NJAC regular-season crown with a 16-2 record while Eli Atiya was the league's Co-Pitcher of the Year.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Rowan garnered a runner-up finish at the NJAC Championship and saw a total of 15 Profs earn All-Conference honors. Rowan also sent six student-athletes to the NCAA Championships.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field: Rowan closed out a successful season by placing fifth in the team standings at the NCAA Championships, which included a runner-up finish for the 4x400 relay, and nine individuals earning All-America status. The Profs won their second AARTFC Regional Championship in school history and also ran away with their 20th NJAC title, and seventh straight, in dominating fashion.
Women's Cross Country: The Profs placed third at the conference championships and took ninth at the NCAA Metro Region Championships.
Men's Cross Country: Rowan picked up its 24th conference championship, and the first since 2017, by winning the meet. That victory also started the unprecedented string of titles for Rowan Athletics in the Fall. Senior Justin Kelly was the individual champion, becoming the 27th Prof to take home the title and the first since 2018.
Football: The Profs compiled their most wins (7) since 2014, which included a thrilling last-second win over rival TCNJ, while Rowan posted victories in five of their last six games. The Profs were well-represented on the All-Conference Teams with eight selections.
Volleyball: Rowan made it back-to-back titles in the NJAC while capturing the eighth in school history. The Profs participated in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time ever, taking on Cortland State in the first round. Natalie Ogden was the NJAC Player of the Year and Deana Jespersen received the Coach of the Year award for the second straight season.
Women's Soccer: The Profs put together a season of great success, racking up 12 consecutive shutouts, while winning their fourth league title, and first since 2016, with a win over 12th-ranked Montclair State. The #23 Profs reached the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to eventual national semifinalist Virginia Wesleyan. Emma DeMaise was the NJAC Defensive Player of the Year while Calista Burke earned Goalkeeper of the Year honors.
Men's Soccer: A late-season surge propelled the Profs to their first NJAC Championship in 20 years, and the 14th all-time. Rowan went without a loss in 10 consecutive games and after reaching the NCAA Second Round, the season came to an end as the Profs were edged by Stevens in penalty kicks. Chad Yates led the Profs and was honored with the NJAC Midfielder of the Year award, becoming the first Rowan player to receive it.
Field Hockey: Ranked among the top three teams in the nation all year, including the number-one ranking for a week, Rowan got to stay home for its second straight trip to the NCAA Final Four played in Glassboro. The Profs captured their second consecutive NJAC title and had Kristiina Castagnola (Midfielder), Tess Herman (Rookie) and Michelle Andre (Coach) receive the league's top awards. Castagnola closed out her career as one of the most decorated athletes ever at Rowan as the program's all-time leading scorer and the Division III Player of the Year, the school's first female athlete to earn the honor.
