WORCESTER, MA --
Jack Watson hit another NCAA 'B' cut time for the second-straight day and the Profs claimed three other first-place finishes on day 2 of WPI Gompei Invitational on Saturday.
Watson was victorious in the 100 back, hitting an NCAA 'B' cut time of 48.68. On Friday he did the same in the 50 free.
DAY 2 RESULTS
The 200 free relay of
Paul Riter,
Tobias Cahnbley,
Matt DeGennaro, and Watson finished in a time of 1:23.76 for first. Watson was also on the 400 medley relay team with
Michael Fracchiolla,
Joe Rucci, and
Alex Volin to swim 3:23.35 in a finish-place finish.
Rucci claimed first in the 400 IM in a time of 4:05.36
Cahnbley was second in the 200 free (1:41.27).
Jimmy Kundrats (57.72) and Fracchiolla (57.93) were second and third respectively in the 100 breaststroke finals.
The mixed 200 free relay team of DeGennaro, Laura Jones, Jordan McChesney, and Watson was second (1:30.85).
Justin Goglia and
Gavin Luong teamed with Jordan McChesney and Ella Pennington in the 400 medley relay where the group was second as well (3:41.49).
The Profs fell to third in the combined team scores with 2629 points, 200 less than the host WPI in second. Bryant leads for the second day in a row, now with a score of 4636.
