HUNTINGDON, PA – Led by four players in double figures, Rowan notched a 92-54 victory at Juniata for the Profs' first win of the season on Saturday.
Kristina Johnson paved the way with a game-high and career-high 16 points.
Ny'emah Middleton added 15 points, while
Nicole Mallard and
Kate Herlihy each kicked in 14 and 10 respectively.
Defensively, the team outrebounded the Eagles, 58-39, and recorded 10 blocks.
Ayanna Johnson was the top rebounder with 12 caroms and
Danielle McCurdy added a team-best three blocked shots.
The Profs led 22-9 after the first quarter and would later use a 24-4 run to close out the second to lead 51-22 at halftime. Rowan limited Juniata to just 8-of-29 shooting in the first half. In the fourth quarter, the Profs shot 10-of-18 in the stanza to help outscore the home team, 31-14.
Steph Emert led Juniata with 12 points and eight boards. Emily McCann chipped in 11 points off the bench.
Rowan begins New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Tuesday when the Profs visit Stockton in the NJAC opener in a 5:30 p.m. start.
