GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan took down William Paterson in four sets, winning 25-17, 25-11, 18-25, and 25-14 Tuesday night in NJAC action at Esbjornson Gymnasium.
The Profs totaled 56 kills, which was one shy of tying a season high, and added 10 service aces for the team's tenth match this season with double-figure aces or more.
Three players finished with double-figure kills, led by a match-high 12 from
Natalie Ogden.
Brianna Newson and
Jena Kaul each kicked in 10 apiece as Rowan improved to 5-0 in conference play.
Odgen added 14 kills for a double double and had five of those 10 aces on the night.
Courtney Rhoden added nine kills and three blocks (one solo) while setter
Brooke Adams collected 49 assists along with eight digs and two blocks.
Rowan hit over .273 in each of the first two sets to get out to a 2-0 lead. The Pioneers were able to win the third, as a 13-3-33 (.303) hitting line helped move the match to a fourth set.
In that fourth set, the Profs turned a 7-5 lead into a 19-8 advantage to pull away from the visitors for good.
For the Pioneers, Abigail Hayth posted a team-high 10 kills and added 11 digs and five aces. Setter Alexa Jarvis registered 26 assists, eight digs, and five kills.
The Profs will head to Stevenson this Saturday for a tri-match with McDaniel and the host Mustangs.
