Chad Yates scored both goals to lead Rowan to a 2-0 win over William Paterson on "Senior Night" men's soccer action. It was the fourth straight shutout posted by the Profs and goalkeeper
Dylan Aportela as the Profs improve to 8-5-4 (3-2-3 NJAC).
Yates scored late in the first half, at 43:52, on a header after
Luke Yates (no relation), who crossed the ball from the right.
Yates gave the Profs an insurance goal early in the second half when Rowan was awarded a penalty kick. The senior converted his third of the year and ran his season scoring total to a team-high 10 goals.
Aportela faced four shots from William Paterson (4-9-2; 1-6-1) and came up with one save to notch his fourth shutout of the season in five starts.
Rowan had the upper hand in shots, with a 19-4 advantage over the visiting Pioneers.

Rowan will close out the regular season on Wednesday, October 26 against Stockton at 7:30 p.m., in a contest that was originally scheduled to be played at Stockton. It is part of a soccer doubleheader with the Rowan women's team, which will also face Stockton beginning at 5 p.m.
