Adams' Third-Straight Double Double Helps Lift Women's Basketball Past Montclair State, 65-47

MONTCLAIR, NJ -- Dakota Adams recorded her third-straight double double helping Rowan to a 65-47 victory at Montclair State Wednesday evening in a New Jersey Athletic Conference tilt.

Adams finished with 16 points and a career-best 13 rebounds along with three assists and three steals. Nicole Mallard poured in a game-high 20 points as the Profs led from start to finish in claiming its fifth win in a row.

Leading by as much as 15 midway in the second quarter, Rowan saw the Red Hawks score nine-straight points to get within 24-18 late in the frame. RU would hold a 26-20 edge at the break.

The Profs came out in the third quarter and produced a 9-for-14 shooting effort (63%) to outscore Montclair State, 24-11 and open up a comfortable lead the rest of the way in improving to 7-1 in conference play.

Kristina Johnson filled out the stat sheet for the Profs, totaling six boards, five points, four steals, three assists, and a pair of blocks. The team finished with a 26-for-64 (40%) performance for the contest while holding the home team to a 16-for-65 (24%) production.

Megan Duffy netted 13 points to lead the Red Hawks. Nickie Carter kicked in 10 points with teammate Trisha Peterson pulling down 14 caroms.

Rowan returns to action on Saturday, staying on the road with a NJAC game at Ramapo starting at 3 p.m.
