Marshall, Mallard, Holt Key Cogs In Women's Basketball's 83-72 Win At Ramapo

MAHWAH, NJ – 20 points each from Grace Marshall and Nicole Mallard keyed Rowan's fifth win in a row Saturday afternoon as the Profs took down Ramapo, 83-72.

Savanna Holt added a season-high 18 points going 4-for-9 from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 at the free throw line. Mallard snagged a team-high eight rebounds and added five assists while Marshall hit four of the team's nine three-pointers on the day.

Jackie Ventricelli led the home team with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Teammate Alie Wickersheim kicked in her own double double with 10 points and 10 boards. Bridget Cahill (16 points) and Ventricelli each had four three pointers.

The Profs erased an early five-point deficit in the first quarter by ending the frame on a 14-2 run to lead 21-14. Ramapo countered in the second quarter with a late rally of their own. Cahill's jumper just before the halftime buzzer deadlocked the teams at 38-38 at the break.

Holt's triple with 4:07 in the third gave Rowan a 55-46 edge. After a double technical was assessed to the Ramapo bench, Holt stepped to the free-throw line to hit four in a row, giving the Profs a double-digit lead. The lead swelled to as much as 19 early in the fourth where Rowan was able to nail down the NJAC victory.

The team returns home on Wednesday, January 19th to take on The College of New Jersey starting at 5:30 p.m. Rowan looks to avenge their NJAC defeat from the hands of the Lions back on November 23rd.
