GLASSBORO, NJ - Freshman Matias Carrion made his first career goal the gamewinner, as Rowan shut out TCNJ, 1-0, in NJAC men's soccer action. The Profs are now 7-1 on the year and 2-1 in the conference.
Carrion entered the match in the second half and came up with deciding goal after the ball went into the box and headed it on goal. A TCNJ defender attempted a clear but the ball went right back to Carrion, who capitalized and put it into the net at 59:27.
Rowan held a decisive edge in shots, 20-6, and the Profs' defense kept the Lions off the board, while goalkeeper James Weinberg made two saves on the evening to record his third shutout of the season. The Profs have only allowed goals in one half out of the six played against conference opponents.Â
Rowan, which is now 1-1 at home, will play its third consecutive home match on Saturday when it hosts NJCU at  7 p.m.
