PITMAN, NJ – A total of 187 Rowan student-athletes have been named to the NJAC All-Academic Team for the 2020-21 academic year. Olivia Scattergood (track & field) and Nick Schooley (baseball) were named to the NJAC All-Academic First Team while Korie Hague (softball) and Donald Zellman (baseball) were chosen to the All-Academic Second Team, with 183 Rowan student-athletes receiving honorable mention.
The honored Profs are part of a league-record 1,236 student-athletes who have been recognized, as sophomores, juniors and seniors who have competed in a conference-sponsored sport while achieving a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.
Scattergood, a senior psychology major, was the NJAC Champion in the hammer throw, winning the conference title by improving on her own school record with a throw of 160'7". An All-NJAC First Team selection this year Scattergood broke the school record in the hammer earlier this year at the Bill Butler Invitational, surpassing the mark that was set in 2013. This marks the third time she has earned NJAC All-Academic honors, as she received honorable mention the previous two years. A Rowan Scholar-Athlete, Scattergood was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society in 2020.
Schooley, a senior electrical and computer engineering major, batted .336 for Rowan, which participated in the NCAA Division III World Series after winning the NCAA Regional and NJAC championships. The Profs' starting shortstop for most of his career, he earned NJAC All-Conference honors for the second time in his career when he was named to the First Team in 2021. He has been a two-time honoree to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team in addition to earned Rowan Scholar-Athlete honors every year. Schooley was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society in 2020.
Hague, a junior health and physical education major, was the fifth leading hitter for the NJAC regular-season softball champion Profs with her .327 batting average. A catcher, she was named to the NFCA All-Region First Team and selected to the NJAC All-Conference First Team. A Rowan Scholar-Athlete and 2020 recipient of NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention, Hague earned her induction into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society this year.
Zellman, a computer science major, was a starting pitcher for the NCAA Regional and NJAC Champion baseball team, posting a 5-0 record and 1.64 ERA. The senior, who was in his second year with the Profs, was chosen to the ABCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team and to the All-NJAC Second Team. A Rowan Scholar-Athlete, Zellman is a 2021 inductee into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society.
