NJAC Championships Up For Grabs This Weekend

Field Hockey, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, and Volleyball all in the mix

GLASSBORO, NJ -- This weekend marks an exciting time of year as Rowan's field hockey, men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball teams will all compete for NJAC Championships. Let's see what's on tap

Friday, November 5th
Women's Soccer at TCNJ | 6:30 pm | Ewing, NJ

The women's soccer team (15-4) entered the NJAC Playoffs as the #3 seed, picking up a first-round win over #6 Rutgers-Camden and then knocking off #2 seeded Montclair State, 1-0, on the road. The Profs will be looking to avenge its 3-1 defeat to the Lions back on September 29th. TCNJ is the top-ranked team in Division III with a 16-0-1 record, so it will be a difficult task at hand.

Saturday, November 6th
Volleyball vs Montclair State | 1:00 pm | Glassboro, NJ

The volleyball team (26-5) earned the top seed in the playoffs thanks to an unblemished conference record. The Profs received a bye into the semifinal round where they outlasted Kean, 3-1, to host the NJAC title game here at Esbjornson Gymnasium. The two teams met in the regular season back on September 21st here in Glassboro where Rowan fought back from a 2-1 deficit to win in five sets, 3-2.

Men's Soccer at Kean | 5:00 pm | Union, NJ

The men's soccer team (12-3-1) was the #4 seed and began their playoff run with a 1-0 win over rival Stockton in the first round. The team then knocked off nationally-ranked and top-seeded Montclair State, 1-0 in the semifinal where they'll take on the Cougars, the #3 seed, who also upset the #2 seed Rutgers-Newark.

In the final championship game of the day, Rowan (15-2) and Kean meet again in a matchup of nationally-ranked teams to decide the NJAC Field Hockey Title. The Profs captured the top seed, going 6-0 in conference play and a 1-0 victory over the Cougars here back on October 9th. Rowan will play in its third-consecutive NJAC Championship game.
