GLASSBORO, NJ - The Rowan football team will return to action after a week layoff and open conference play when it visits Kean on Saturday, October 9. Kickoff is 1 p.m. at Kean Alumni Stadium and the game will be broadcast on Rowan Radio (89.7 FM) while live video will also be available.

About the Profs (0-3; 0-0 NJAC)
Rowan is looking to get into the win column for the first time after it opened the year with a pair of home losses, to Widener (27-22) and Springfield (46-24) and then one on the road to Salve Regina (50-35).
About Kean (1-3; 1-0 NJAC)
The Cougars lost their first three games of the year but opened the conference season with a 27-20 win on the road at Christopher Newport. Among the leaders for Kean is Donte Jamison, the NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week. He had a 60-yard punt return for a touchdown against Christopher Newport, along with six catches for 79 yards.
Bright Spots
At Salve Regina,
Mike Husni passed for 277 yards and three touchdowns, completing 16-of-24, while
John Maldonado had a season-high 136 yards with eight receptions.
Eddie Jamison caught a 56-yard pass from Husni for his first touchdown of the season.
Bring on the NJAC
This marks the start of conference play for the Profs. Rowan went 4-6 in the NJAC in 2019 as it won four of its last six and the final two games of the season - against Christopher Newport and TCNJ.
Good Catch
WR
John Maldonado is Husni's primary target this year and the junior is having his best season as a Prof. He currently leads the NJAC and ranks 24th in the NCAA in receptions per game (7.0). He has 21 receptions for 250 yards and three touchdowns.
No Whistles
The Profs rank 19th in the nation, and lead the conference, in fewest penalties, with just 15 in the three games.
Going For It
The Profs have been successful in their fourth-down attempts thus far, making 66.7 percent (6-of-9), a number which ranks 25th in the nation and leads the conference.
For the Defense
AJ Akins leads the Profs so far with a team-high 28 tackles, including 13 solo and 3.0 sacks while LBs
Mike Mascioli and
Tim Hutchison each have a team-high 14 solo tackles.
Calvin Harper has the team's lone interception this year with one pick in the Widener game.
Looking Ahead
Rowan will host #13 Salisbury on October 16 (1 p.m.) and will then entertain William Paterson on Homecoming, October 23 (2 p.m.)
