GLENSIDE, PA -- Rowan improved to 23-5 on the season with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-20) win at Arcadia Friday night.
Behind a match-high 12 kills from
Natalie Ogden and 29 assists (39 kills) from setter
Brooke Adams, the Profs secured their fourth win in a row as they near the end of the regular season.
Odgen added 14 kills for her 13th double-double on the year.
Simone Sparano added a game-high 27 digs while adding three aces and three assists.
Brianna Newson kicked in eight kills and three
blocks (two solo).
For the Knights, Michelle Frank poste 10 kills to lead the home team.
Up 1-0, the Profs had to fight back from a 6-1 deficit in the second set. Thanks to two big momentum swings, the latter coming at 16-13 where Rowan ran off a 9-1 run to get ahead for good.
In the third set, the Profs rode the wave of an 11-2 spurt to take a five-point lead after an ace from Sparano (17-12). Arcadia climbed within two points three times late in the frame, but Rowan closed it out with three-straight points including a kill from Newson to wrap things up.
The squad returns home for their final regular season matches in a tri-match tomorrow. Rowan takes on Brooklyn at 11 a.m. and Mount Saint Mary at 3 p.m. with the sandwich match of the two opposing teams taking place at 1 p.m. The Profs have clinched the top seed and a first-round bye in next week's NJAC Tournament.
