The Profs looked to shake off a slow start in the first set, as the Scarlet-Raptors ran out to a 9-1 lead. Rhoden used a big block off a setter dump attempt as part of a six-point run to get the home team to 15-14. Rowan later tried to come back from a 24-19 deficit with four points of their own but were unable to get ahead.
In the second set, it was Rowan jumping out to a big lead as a kill from Newson capped a 10-2 spurt. Another big scoring run later in the frame opened the lead up to 19-6. Rutgers-Camden was able to cut into the advantage, pulling within 21-17 after nine points in a row. Camponelli used back-to-back aces to seal up set #2 at one game apiece.
A big 6-0 run helped turn the momentum in the third, as a key scoring stretch turned an 11-7 hole into a lead Rowan did not relinquish. Camponelli put the finishing touch with her third ace and more importantly a 2-1 lead.
No lead was larger than six points in the fourth set as both teams put together scoring stretches. The Profs were able to fight off Rutgers-Camden, taking a 19-17 lead and turning it into a 25-20 result to help ice the match.
For the Scarlet-Raptors, Kaliyah Moss led the visitors with a match-high 14 kills. Teammate Morgan Fox hit a personal milestone in the first set, as she recorded her 1,000th career dig.
