Yates Scores Both Goals as Men's Soccer Rallies to Defeat Stockton, 2-1, in Overtime

GLASSBORO, NJ – Chad Yates scored two goals, including the winning goal just two minutes into overtime, as Rowan rallied to defeat Stockton, 2-1 in an NJAC men's soccer matchup. It is the fourth game without a loss for the Profs as they improve to 9-1-1 and 4-1-1 in the league.

Yates tied the match when Junior Miranda sent him a through ball and Yates made his move around a defender to score at 64:47.

Wilby Alfred set up the winning goal as he dribbled towards the box and Yates one-timed a blast from outside the box for the golden goal at 92:17.

"This game is a big rivalry game. All NJAC games are tough, but this matchup always brings a different intensity.  It's a big win!  Chad Yates took the team on his shoulders tonight. Great effort by him and the team," said head coach Scott Baker.

Stockton (8-6-1; 4-2 NJAC) opened the scoring in the match at 33:24 as Sebi Morrello came up with the ball after a scrum in front of the net, with Dante Montesinos picking up the assist.

Rowan held just a 15-10 edge in shots, while goalkeeper James Weinberg made four saves on the evening.

Next up for the Profs is a visit to Kean on Saturday, October 16 in a 1 p.m. start.
