JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Rowan volleyball team made it 10 wins in a row with its 3-0 victory at New Jersey City Tuesday evening in a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, and 25-14.
The Profs registered a season-high .405 hitting percentage, going for 41 kills and just nine errors on 79 attack attempts. Natalie Odgen piled up a match-high 14 kills while setter
Brooke Adams put together 37 assists to help Rowan stay unbeaten in conference play. Ogden's 14 kills came on 21 attempts with no errors on the night.
Brianna Newson notched five of her 11 kills in the first set to help the Profs lead from start to finish and go ahead, 1-0. In the second set, it was Ogden who had the hot hand, totaling seven kills on just seven attempts.
The third set saw the Gothic Knights use an early four-point stretch to get within 9-7, but the Profs were just too strong, scoring eight of the next nine points to open up the lead. A big block from
Alexa Blue and
Courtney Rhoden gave Rowan a 20-10 advantage where the team went on to lock things up.
Rowan is right back at it on Thursday when they host Rutgers-Camden in NJAC action here at Esby Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
