LEXINGTON, KY - The Rowan women's volleyball team has been named the recipient of a USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2019-20 season, as given by the United State Marine Corps and the American Volleyball Coaches Association, becoming one of 231 teams honored in NCAA Division III.

The Profs, under the direction of sixth-year head coach Deana Jespersen, maintained a team grade-point average of 3.6 for the past academic year.

The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale. A total of 1,315 teams from all divisions were honored this season.
