Ryan O'Leary and
Jonathan Hevalow each scored a career-high 18 points to lead Rowan to a 101-61 rout of William Paterson in NJAC men's basketball action on the road. It was the Profs' third straight win and their largest margin of victory this season.
O'Leary made 6-of-8 three-pointers in the game and helped Rowan (12-11; 8-8 NJAC) break the game wide open early in the second half. He connected on four three-pointers in a span of three minutes as the Profs built up a 30-point lead on William Paterson (9-14; 5-11).
Hevalow tallied his points off the bench and scored 12 straight in a two-minute span late in the game.
Jerry Price tallied 14 points and handed out five assists for Rowan,
Maliq Sanders scored 11 and
Diante Bah grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
Leading 46-30 at halftime, Rowan kept rolling in the second half, opening the period with 17 straight points in a 27-2 run to build up a 73-34 lead with 12:58 remaining.
Rowan never let up the rest of the way as William Paterson, which missed all 11 three-point attempts in the half, trailed by more than 30 points for almost the entire 14 minutes of the game.
William Paterson opened the game by scoring the first five points, but Rowan scored the next 14, led by five from
Austin Kearney, to stake a 14-5 lead with over 12 minutes to play in the first half. A three-pointer by Price pushed the Profs into double digits, 17-7, and then another three by the senior just five minutes later gave Rowan a 13-point lead, 33-20, at 7:15.
Rowan expanded it to 46-30 at halftime as they connected on 10-of-23 from three-point range in the half. The Profs also limited the Pioneers to a 7-for-36 shooting effort, with just 2-of-12 three-pointers.
Rowan will visit Rutgers-Newark on Saturday, February 15 and then close out the regular season at home on February 19 against Kean.
