GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men's swimming & diving team suffered a 154-146 loss against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
The Profs (6-3) honored seniors
Jack Freeman,
Matt Grubb,
Jake Kayati,
Dominick Merighi,
Matt Schillaci and
Chad Shire prior to the start of the meet. It was the last home meet of the season.
The 200 medley relay of
Kevin Gillooly, Grubb, Kayati and
Dylan Regan took first place with a time of 1:33.27. Rowan took second (1:24.58) and third (1:27.38) in the 200 freestyle relay. Kayati, Gillooly,
Tyler McDonald and Regan were on the second place relay. The third place relay was made up of
Ben Wiley,
Dominick Sheppard,
Matt Maretic and
Matt DeGennaro.
Gillooly touched first in the 100 backstroke (51.91) and 100 freestyle (46.30). Grubb claimed first (57.86) in the 100 breaststroke and third (2:10.36) in the 200 breaststroke. Kayati was the winner (51.56) in the 100 butterfly.
Kevin Yanagisawa won the 1000 freestyle (9:59.72) and 200 butterfly (1:54.22). He had a second place (4:49.99) in the 500 freestyle.
Tyler McDonald took first place (4:48.67) in the 500 freestyle.
Chad Shire was the winner in the one-meter diving with 302.10 points and he was second (288.30) on the three-meter board.
Matt Hoy had a fourth place (239.60) in the one-meter diving and he was fifth (183.60) in the three-meter.
Kyle Printon came in second (1:46.05) in the 200 freestyle and he was third (2:00.04) in the 200 individual medley. Regan had a second place (21.65) in the 50 free.
James Yates and
Alex Sukach were second (1:56.75) and third (1:59.39) respectively in the 200 backstroke.
Joe Rucci finished second (1:55.36) in the 200 butterfly and Wiley had a third place (47.70) in the 100 freestyle.
