Sanders, Dickerson Lead Men's Basketball Over William Paterson, 92-69

GLASSBORO, NJ –  Maliq Sanders and Connor Dickerson combined for 43 points as Rowan (6-7; 2-4 NJAC) returned home and posted a 92-69 win over William Paterson (6-7; 2-4) in NJAC men's basketball action at Esby Gym.
 
Sanders had 23 points, including 15 in the first half, as he hit a career-high five three-pointers. Dickerson notched a career-best 20 points as he went 7-for-11 from the field and 3-for-4 from three-point range, while handing out five assists.
 
Jerry Price added 14 points for Rowan and Ryan O'Leary scored 10. Diante Bah grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds in the Profs' first home game since December 11 after five straight on the road.  
 
Rowan closed out the first half with a 14-0 run to take a 41-28 halftime lead and control of the game. Sanders had eight points in the spurt, including a dunk and a three-pointer in the final 40 seconds before intermission.
 
In the second half, a layup by Sanders gave the Profs their biggest lead of the night, 59-43, with just under 12 minutes to play. The Pioneers then went on a 15-7 run to inch back into it, pulling to within 66-58 at the 7:23 mark.
 
Dickerson answered with a three-pointer to give Rowan a 69-58 cushion before William Paterson got within nine points two more times, the last being a 71-62 deficit with 5:26 to play. But back-to-back threes by Austin Kearney and Dickerson pushed Rowan's advantage to double digits, which the Profs would hold onto the rest of the way.
 
In the first half, William Paterson used five straight points from Justin Lingat to take its first lead of the game, 28-27, with under four minutes to play. O'Leary then started Rowan's 14-0 run with four straight points.
 
Domenic Mignone scored 12 points for William Paterson with Lingat and Sean Smith netting 11.
 
The Profs head back on the road to face Montclair State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
