WAYNE, NJ – The 17th-ranked Rowan University men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with William Paterson (3-2-2; 0-0-1) in overtime in the NJAC opener for both teams. The Profs are now 4-1-3 on the season and 0-0-1 in the NJAC.
The Profs got on the board first when
Ki Costa scored his first goal of the season at 29:01.
Chad Yates sent a pass from midfield and Costa took it in, beating goalkeeper Thomas Hatch.
William Paterson tied it right before time expired in the half as Osi Agyemang scored as a result of a free kick, with assists from Ryan Pratt and Kevin Goggins at 44:59.
The teams remained scoreless the rest of the way Rowan goalkeeper
James Weinberg had one save on the day while Hatch had four for the Pioneers. Rowan outshot William Paterson, 15-12.
Rowan returns to action in one week, hosting Montclair State on Saturday night, September 28 at 7 p.m. at Rowan Soccer Stadium.
