Women's Lacrosse Defeats Rutgers-Camden, 20-2

CAMDEN, NJ – The Rowan University women's lacrosse team defeated Rutgers-Camden, 20-2 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Tuesday. 
 
The Profs had 10 players that contributed with one or more goals. Attack Maddie Bray (sr. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) scored five goals and had one assist.  Midfielder Taylor Gretz (sr. Woolwich Twp., NJ/Kingsway Reg.) totaled five points with three goals and two assists.  Midfielder Liz Kramer (sr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) collected two goals and four assists.
 
Attacks Mikala Gillespie (sr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) and Elise Cohan (fr. Far Hills, NJ/Bernards) and midfielder Julia Grlica (so. Jefferson, NJ/Jefferson Twp.) each had two goals and one assist.  Attacks Jess Havers (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and Ashley Lechliter (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) and midfielder Shannen Sterner (fr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) and defender Kaitlyn Schneider (jr. Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington County Reg) all chipped in with a goal.  
 
Goalie Reilly Shaup (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) made one save in the first half while goalie Emma Frost (sr. Washington, NJ/Warren Hills Reg.) had three saves in the second.  Kramer compiled four draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers.  Gretz added five draw controls and three ground balls.  
 
Rowan is 10-5 overall and 5-1 in the conference.  Rutgers-Camden has a 4-10 record with a 0-5 NJAC mark.  Midfielder Cara Racobaldo (sr. Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) scored twice for the Scarlet Raptors and attack Demi Albertini (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Camden Catholic) had an assist.  Goalie Brittany Watson (so. Millville, NJ/Millville) turned away eight shots.  
 
Rowan started the game with 10 straight goals.  Bray scored five times while Gretz had two goals.  Gillespie, Havers and Sterner all had one goal. Racobaldo put Rutgers-Camden on the scoreboard with an assist from Albertini at 10:48.  The Profs answered with three more goals to lead 13-1 at the break. Grlica, Kramer and Gillespie each hit the net one time.  
 
Rowan led 18-1 after five straight goals in the second half.  Cohan contributed with two while Lechliter, Kramer and Gretz each had one.  Racobaldo made the score 18-2 with an unassisted tally at 13:59.  Grlica and Schneider scored one goal apiece to end the contest.    
 
Next, Rowan hosts Catholic University on Thursday, April 25 at 6 p.m. in the final game of the regular season.
