GLASSBORO, NJ – The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team edged Rowan University, 11-10 on Tuesday night.
Midfielder Halle Conklin (fr. Point Lookout, NY/Kellenberg Mem.), Kate Calabro (so. Seaford, NY/Kellenberg Mem.) and Christine Olert (sr. Katonah, NY/Somer) all scored three goals for the Royals. Attack Jill Henson (so. Baldwinsville, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) contributed with one goal and one assist. Attack Raegen Dunn (so. Freehold, NJ/Freehold) added one goal while attack/midfielder Kaitlyn Murphy (sr. Somers, NY/North Salem) had an assist.
Goalies Lauren Devlin (so. Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks W.) and Erin Putnam (jr. Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks S.) made two and four saves respectively. Midfielder Becca Russo (jr. South Windsor, CT/South Windsor) collected seven ground balls. Calabro totaled five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Scranton has a 10-1 record while Rowan is 5-4 on the season. For the Profs, midfielder
Liz Kramer (sr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) scored two goals and had two assists. Attacks
Maddie Bray (sr. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) and
Elise Cohan (fr. Far Hills, NJ/Bernards) each hit the net two times. Attacks
Ashley Lechliter (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) and
Julia Stumpf (jr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) registered one goal and one assist apiece.

Shannen Sterner (fr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) each had one goal while midfielder
Taylor Gretz (sr. Woolwich Twp., NJ/Kingsway Reg.) assisted on one score.

Emma Frost (sr. Washington, NJ/Warren Hills Reg.) turned away 12 shots. Kramer had six draw controls and defender
Haley Symons (sr. Harrington Park, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) followed with five. Gretz compiled seven ground balls, four draw controls and four caused turnovers.
The Profs were ahead 5-1 going into the second half. Both teams had a goal then Scranton scored three straight to trail 6-5. Dunn (22:27), Olert (20:35) and Conklin (19:04) each scored. Rowan led 8-5 at 17:08 after goals by Cohan and Kramer. Scranton followed with two to pull within one (8-7) with 13:08 left. Calabro and Olert each found the net. Lechliter had a free position goal, which made the score 9-7.
The Royals answered with four straight goals to go ahead 11-9 at 4:27. Conklin contributed with two while Calabro and Henson had one apiece. Sterner scored the last goal with 2:12 on the clock.
Next, Rowan hosts conference opponent Kean University on Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m.
