TCNJ Women's Lacrosse Wins 17-11 At Rowan

GLASSBORO, NJ – The College of New Jersey women's lacrosse team won 17-11 at Rowan University in a conference game on Tuesday night.
 
The 17thranked Lions are 7-5 overall and 3-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.  The Profs have an 8-5 record with a 3-1 conference mark.    
 
Midfielder Alex Fitzpatrick (jr. Burlington, NJ/Northern Burlington) and attack Olivia Cleale (jr. Yardley, PA/Notre Dame (NJ)) led TCNJ with seven points apiece.  Fitzpatrick scored six goals and had one assist.  She also compiled seven draw controls.  Cleale totaled four goals and three assists.  Attack Kasey Donoghue (jr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) contributed with three goals. 
 
Attack Talia Bouzakis (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) chipped in with two goals and two assists.  Midfielders Erin Harvey (sr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) and Allie Gorman (jr. Sicklerville, NJ/Washington Twp.) each added a goal.  Goalie Miranda Chrone (sr. Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) made seven saves. 
 
For Rowan, attack Maddie Bray (sr. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) and midfielder Taylor Gretz (sr. Woolwich Twp., NJ/Kingsway Reg.) each scored three goals.  Bray had an assist.  Attack Jess Havers (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) assisted on three goals.  Attacks Elise Cohan (fr. Far Hills, NJ/Bernards) and Julia Stumpf (jr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) collected two goals apiece while midfielder Liz Kramer (sr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) had one.  Kramer compiled nine draw controls.  Goalie Reilly Shaup (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) turned away nine shots.  
 
TCNJ started the game with two goals by Fitzpatrick.  Gretz scored on a free position shot (19:51) and Cohen hit the net (15:15) on a pass from Havers, which made the score 2-2.  Bray and Kramer each hit the net to lead 4-2 at 13:52.  At 11:26, Bray had a goal and made the score 5-3.  TCNJ answered with three straight to go ahead 6-5.  Fitzpatrick, Cleale and Donoghue each had one goal.  Cohan knotted the score at six (6:17) for a tie at the break.
 
The Lions had four unanswered goals at the beginning of the second period to lead 10-6.  Fitzpatrick, Cleale, Gorman and Bouzakis all registered one score.  Bray ended the streak with a free position goal (14:34) to trail 10-7.  TCNJ followed with six more goals for a 16-7 advantage with 5:07 on the clock.  Stumpf had a goal (4:31) with an assist from Havers. Cleale produced her fourth goal with 3:20 remaining.  Stumpf and Gretz made the score 17-10 with goals at 2:28 and 1:42 respectively. Gretz had one more goal with a free position shot at 1:01.    
 
Rowan travels to Montclair State University on Saturday, April 20 for a noon conference game.
