GLASSBORO, NJ – The St. Mary's College women's lacrosse team edged Rowan University, 18-17 on Wednesday.
Midfielder Kate Bartholomew (jr. Galena, MD/Kent County) led the way with six goals and two assists for eight points. Midfielder Caitlin Katchmar (sr. Phoenix, MD/Hereford) contributed with four points, three goals and one assist. Attack Lucy Gussio (fr. Baldwin, MD/Notre Dame Preparatory) scored four times.
Attack Ali Collie (sr. Glen Arm, MD/Dulaney) produced two goals, including the game-winner and two assists. Attack Sydni Thacker (sr. Lutherville-Timonium, MD/McDonogh School)
chipped in with two goals. Midfielder Nicole Kuderski (so. Huntingtown, MD/Huntingtown) added one goal while midfielder Jayne Barkman (fr. Lothian, MD/Southern) had an assist.
Goalie Emma Brown (sr. Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) stopped eight shots. Bartholomew totaled seven draw controls. Defender Stephanie Heffron (fr. Bowie, MD/St. John's) compiled six draw controls, five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
The Seahawks are 4-2 overall while Rowan is 2-2 on the season. Attack
Maddie Bray (sr. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) led the Profs with eight points, six goals and two assists. Midfielder
Liz Kramer (sr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) scored four times.

Reese Parr (sr. Freehold, NJ/Howell) and
Jess Havers (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) each registered two goals. Midfielder
Shannen Sterner (fr. Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) had one goal. Attacks
Mikala Gillespie (sr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) and
Elise Cohan (fr. Far Hills, NJ/Bernards) and Gretz all assisted on one goal.

Emma Frost (sr. Washington, NJ/Warren Hills Reg.) made 12 saves. Gretz collected 11 draw controls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
In the second half, the score was tied seven times. St. Mary's started with three goals by Bartholomew to lead 12-11 at 22:55. Kramer tied it at 12 (22:18) with an unassisted tally. Bray evened the score at 13 (18:07) and Kramer gave the Profs a 14-13 advantage (17:14). St. Mary's went ahead 15-14 after goals by Gussio (15:27) and Collie (14:52). Kramer answered with two straight to take back the lead 16-15 with 11:23 remaining. Gussio tied the score at 16 (9:52). Havers put Rowan back on top (17-16) with an assist from Cohan (4:21). Gussio made it 17-17 (3:52) and Collie recorded the winning goal (0:13).
The score was tied three times in the first half then Rowan had five goals to lead 8-3. Bray knotted the score at three (18:53) with an unassisted goal then Bray (17:03) and Parr (15:50) each hit the net with a free position shot. Parr followed with a score at 15:15 on a pass from Gillespie. Bray had another free position goal (11:43) and she assisted on Sterner's goal (10:21).
The Seahawks tied the score at eight with five unanswered goals. Thacker contributed with two while Katchmar, Gussio and Bartholomew each had one. Gretz put the Profs up 9-8 (1:54) and Bartholomew made the score 9-9 (1:39). Havers took back the lead with a goal at 1:19 and an assist from Bray. With five seconds left, Bray scored on a pass by Gretz to lead 11-9 at the break.
