KINGS POINT, NY – The Rowan University women's swimming & diving team defeated the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, 198-87 on Saturday.
It was the Profs' last dual meet on the season. Rowan finishes with a 9-2 overall record. The women took first place in the 200 medley relay with
Miranda Coughlan (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.),
Emily Kopchick (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.),
Gabby Gligor (sr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) and
Elizabeth O'Brien (so. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.) in 1:53.70. The 200 freestyle relay had a winning time of 1:42.44. The free relay included
Abigail Brous (so. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford), O'Brien,
Kylie Salerno (fr. Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) and Coughlan.
Coughlan took first in the 50 free (24.96) and 100 backstroke (1:00.57). Gligor finished first (1:01.25) in the 100 butterfly. Brous came in first (28.49) in the 50 backstroke and
Daria Mnich (jr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) followed second (30.06). Mnich had a first place in the 50 butterfly with a time of 27.96.
Veronica Alferez (so. Elmwood Park, NJ/Elmwood Park Mem.) was the winner (11:06.71) in the 1000 freestyle.
Madison Eufer (fr. Morganville, NJ/Marlboro) had a first place (2:20.90) in the 200 individual medley.
Carlee Timmins (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) swam 2:00.68 in the 200 free for first and she won (5:16.51) the 500 freestyle. Timmins had a second place (56.28) in the 100 freestyle.
The Profs took first through third in the 50 breaststroke. Kopchick touched first (32.04) followed by
Bailey Howarth (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.), second (33.00) and
Emily LaBenski (jr. Wenonah, NJ/Deptford), third (33.02). In the 100 breaststroke, Kopchick was the winner with a time of 1:09.48. Howarth came in second (1:10.53) and LaBenski was third (1:11.43).
Corrine Finkbinder (jr. Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) totaled 246.00 points in the one meter diving and was first. She had a second place on the three-meter board (255.90) and
Kelly McQueston (so. Malvern, PA/Great Valley) was third (188.85).
Annalise Giuliano (fr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) had a second place (11:51.31) in the 1000 freestyle. In the 200 free,
Alex Bambrick (jr. Caldwell, NJ/James Caldwell) and
Claire McKissick (jr. Ellicott City, MD/Archbishop Spalding) were second (2:04.25) and third (2:08.13) respectively. Bambrick also had a second place (1:02.85) in the 100 backstroke.
Jordan Jones (fr. Somerset, NJ/Homeschooled) had a third place (1:03.70) in the 100 butterfly and Eufer followed fourth (1:05.23).
O'Brien and Salerno were third (26.06) and fourth (26.30) respectively in the 50 free. Salerno was also third (57.15) in the 100 freestyle and O'Brien took third (1:03.84) in the 100 backstroke.
