WAYNE, NJ – The Rowan University men's swimming and diving team won 126-81 at William Paterson University in a conference meet.
The 200 medley relay of
James Yates,
Noah Shepard,
Joe Rucci and
Matt Maretic had a winning time of 1:41.65. Rucci finished first in the 200 individual medley in 2:02.49.
The Profs are 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Pioneers have a 3-3 record with a 0-1 conference mark.
Tyler McDonald swam 22.19 in the 50 free for first place. He also won the 100 freestyle in 48.40.
Jack Freeman took first (10:45.42) in the 1000 freestyle and
Rocco Evangelista was second (11:03.24).
Alex Sukach was the winner (1:52.10) in the 200 freestyle and
Ben Wiley followed second (1:55.46).
Chad Shire took first place in the one and three-meter diving. He totaled 330.60 points on the one-meter board and 284.92 points in the three-meter.
Kevin Yanagisawa won the 100 butterfly in 54.25.
Christian Termine finished first (57.86) in the 100 backstroke while
Greg Cann won (1:01.70) the 100 breaststroke.
Matt Smits touched first (4:58.73) in the 500 freestyle.
Next, Rowan hosts Ramapo College on Saturday, Nov. 16 in a conference meet at 1 p.m. The divers will compete at West Chester University on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m.
