GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's swim team defeated conference opponent Kean University, 134-50.
Rowan took first place in all 11 events. The Profs are 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Cougars are 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The women won the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay with times of 1:52.34 and 3:47.36 respectively. The medley relay include
Abigail Brous,
Megan Miller,
Jordan Jones and
Daria Mnich. Brous,
Kylie Salerno,
Elizabeth O'Brien and
Jordan McChesney were on the freestyle relay.
Brous swam a winning time of 55.65 in the 100 freestyle. Mnich claimed first (1:03.50) in the 100 backstroke.
Carlee Timmins touched first in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 17:52.90 and Jones came in first (5:34.84) in the 500 freestyle.
Alex Bambrick won the 400 individual medley in 4:49.84.
Nicole Harms had a first place (1:03.38) in the 100 butterfly and
Emily Kopchick finished first (1:09.71) in the 100 breaststroke.
Veronica Alferez won the 200 freestyle in 2:00.40 while McChesney followed second, 2:00.51 and
Erin Quay was third, 2:10.94.
The Profs took first through third in the 50 free. O'Brien was the winner (26.27), Salerno came in second (26.51) and Kopchick was third (26.52).
Brianna Gutierrez had a second place (19:15.93) in the 1650 freestyle. In the 400 individual medley,
Taylor DeGennaro finished second (4:58.62) and
Bailey Howarth was third (4:59.55).
Rowan is home again on Friday, Nov. 8 against Montclair State University at 5 p.m.
