GLASSBORO, NJ - The Rowan University football team will play its second straight road game when it travels to William Paterson for an NJAC matchup on Saturday, October 26. Kickoff is 1 p.m. at Wightman Stadium and
the game will be broadcast on Rowan Radio (WGLS 89.7) with video through William Paterson's website.

The Game
Rowan gets a break from playing ranked teams after four games against opponents that were either in the top 25 or receiving votes. Last week, the Profs lost to #12 Salisbury while William Paterson lost to #18 Wesley.Â

The Series (Rowan leads 41-7)
Rowan owns an all-time record of 41-7 against William Paterson and is in the midst of a 10-game winning streak vs. the Pioneers. The Profs' last loss in the serieswas on Nov. 10, 2007, which was a 21-20 win by William Paterson at its home field.

Rowan defeated William Paterson, 22-6, in last year's meeting at home. The Profs led, 22-0, in the fourth quarter before WP got on the board late. QB
Riley Giles passed for 227 yards while
Messiah Divine and
Cody Madden each had eight catches for 72 yards. Divine also scored one of the Profs' TDs on the ground.

The Profs lost to #12 Salisbury, 38-7, last Saturday. The Sea Gulls scored the first 21 points, with 14 in the first quarter, and never looked back. The home team totaled 485 yards of offense, with 336 on the ground, while Rowan went for 269 total yards, with 181 in the air.

Rowan got on the board with 6:24 left in the half when
Nick Grosso caught a 32-yard pass from
Mike Husni. Grosso had six catches for 77 yards for Rowan while
Elijah Rehm had four receptions for 41 yards. Husni was 15-of-21 for 181 yards, while he rushed 11 times for 46 yards

The Profs forced and recovered two Salisbury fumbles but couldn't capitalize.
Xavier Brown forced one in the first quarter, which was recovered by
Anthony LaRosa, while
Sunny Tapp stripped WR Michael Fowler, and recovered the ball late in the first half.

Rowan vs. the Ranked
The Profs are 0-3 this year against ranked teams. Rowan lost to #12 Salisbury last week, as well as to then-#12 Linfield and then-#11 Wesley. Rowan's schedule has been a challenging one with three opponents currently in the D3football.com Top 25 (Linfield, Wesley, Salisbury) and one that was receiving votes (Hobart). Rowan owns a 4-7 record against ranked teams in the past four seasons, with the last victory coming against #8 Wesley, 28-27, on October 20, 2018.

Sophomore
Mike Husni has thrown for 1,002 yards and nine touchdowns this season while averaging 3.5 yards per carry. He ranks second in the NJAC in total offense with 208.2 yards per game and is fourth in passing with 135.6 yards per game.

Nick Grosso is having a career-best season, averaging 67.2 receiving yards per game, with 26 catches and four touchdowns this season. His per-catch average is 10.1 yards.

Freshman PK
Jake Hurler has made 20-of-22 PATs and ranks third in the NJAC at 94.7 percent. He made seven extra points in the 52-7 win over Kean.

Rehm's Returns
Elijah Rehm is again the Profs' top kick and punt returner. He's averaging 6.7 yards per punt return, win, and is garnering 15.2 yards on kick returns. His longest punt return of the year is 33 yards, while he had a 24-yard kickoff return. The senior also has a team-high 28 catches this year with an averaging of 47.2 yards per game. He made five catches for 117 yards in the win over Kean, catching two touchdown passes.

The Stoppers
Mike Mascioli leads the Profs in tackles this season with 54 (team-high 25 solo, 29 ast), while
Sunny Tapp has 36 and
Anthony LaRosa has 35.
Malachi Winters has made 31 tackles and
Kameron Kennedy has 28 with 23 solos. Tapp has a team-high 5.0 sacks while
David Gajderowicz and LaRosa have 2.5 each.

Making an Impact
The Profs have partnered with Team Impact, a national organization that connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with local college athletic teams. This year's Rowan "recruit" for Team Impact is Matthew Pollard, a 15-year old with cystic fibrosis. The Profs will officially "sign" Matthew on October 25 in a ceremony after practice.
