GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University volleyball team swept Rutgers-Camden in three straight sets in NJAC action tonight at Esby Gym. The Profs won by scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 25-12 to improve to 5-1 in the league, and 12-13 overall.
The Profs celebrated "Senior Night" earlier than usual and honored Megan Francis,
Kailey Gallagher and
Megan Jacobi for their careers at Rowan. Jacobi was also recognized for recording her 1,000th career kill against Ohio Northern at the Trinity (TX) Tournament this past weekend.
Gallagher led the way for Rowan, with 16 kills and just two errors for a .538 hitting percentage while Jacobi connected on 12 kills without an error (.429 hitting pct.).
Tori Mock had 44 assists in the victory while
Simone Sparano had 19 digs and
Natalie Ogden added 13. Francis served up two aces for the Profs and had seven digs on the night.
The Profs built the momentum early, jumping out to a 10-3 lead on Rutgers-Camden (11-10; 1-4 NJAC) in the first set.
Rowan returns to action on Saturday when it travels to the Eastern University Tri-Match, taking on the host team and Widener.
