Ramapo Men's Basketball Wins 77-65 Over Visiting Rowan

MAHWAH, NJ – The Ramapo College men's basketball team won 77-65 over visiting Rowan University on Saturday.
 
Guard Kashaun Barnes (sr. Toms River, NJ/Manchester) led the Roadrunners with 20 points and six rebounds.  Forward Bryant Quill (jr. Pottstown, PA/Pottstown) contributed 13 points off the bench.  Guard Rob McWilliams (jr. Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee) added 11 points and guard Connor Romano (jr. Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) had 10.  Forward Rob Lewis (sr. Scotch Plains, NJ/St Mary of the Assumption) grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.
 
Ramapo and Rowan are both 15-5 on the season and 9-4 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.  For the Profs, guard Nick DePersia (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) scored 17 points.  Guard/forward Ramon Wright (sr. Newark, NJ/Irvington) totaled 10 points and seven boards.  Guard Rob DePersia (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) added nine points and six assists.
Center Diante Bah (jr. Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) blocked five shots and had seven boards.  
 
The Roadrunners were ahead 40-33 after the first half.  The Profs had a 12-5 run and tied the score at 45 with 13:59 remaining in the second stanza.  Five different players scored in the surge and Wright's dunk knotted the game. Ramapo went ahead 54-45 (12:14) after nine straight points.  Quill made four points while McWilliams and Lewis had three and two respectively.  
 
Rowan pulled within four (56-52) after two free throws at 7:19 by guard DaRon Curry (sr. Deptford, NJ/Phelps School (PA)).  Ramapo built a 14 point lead (68-54) with nine unanswered points with 2:09 left.  Barnes had four of the nine points.  The closest the Profs came was seven points (69-62) after guard Ryan Legler's (so. Stone Harbor, NJ/Wildwood Catholic) three-pointer.
 
The Roadrunners outscored the Profs, 8-3 in the final minute.  They were eight for 10 from the free throw line. Barnes made six free throws in six attempts.  He led Ramapo in the second half with 11 points.    
 
Rowan returns home on Wednesday, Jan. 30 against Stockton University at 8 p.m.
