Men's Basketball Comes Back In Second Half For 100-95 Win Over Stockton

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men's basketball team came back in the second half for a 100-95 win over Stockton University on Wednesday night.
 
Guard Nick DePersia (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) led the Profs with a game and season-high 29 points.  He was 10 for 19 from the floor with nine three-pointers, which is a school record.  The previous mark was eight by Matt Byrnes (Nov. 2005).  
 
Guard/forward Ramon Wright (sr. Newark, NJ/Irvington) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, nine defensive.  He also had four assists, four blocks and three steals. Guard DaRon Curry (sr. Deptford, NJ/Phelps School (PA)) contributed with 15 points and eight assists.  
 
Guard Connor Dickerson (fr. Marlton, NJ/Moorestown) added 12 points and six boards off the bench.  Guard Rob DePersia (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) chipped in with 10 points, nine rebounds and six assists.  He had all 10 points in the final half along with six boards.  Forward Teirique Robinson (sr. Willingboro, NJ/Willingboro) totaled nine boards.
 
Rowan has a 16-5 record with a 10-4 conference mark.  The Profs are in second place in the conference standings. Stockton drops to 9-12 on the season and 7-7 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
 
For the Ospreys, forward Steve Ferebee (jr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) compiled 21 points and seven rebounds.  Guard Brandon Hamilton (jr. Camden, NJ/Paulsboro) produced 19 points and guard Kyion Flanders (fr. Wildwood, NJ/Wildwood) followed with 18. Guard Keenan Williams (sr. Paulsboro, NJ/Paulsboro) was in double figures with 13 points and forward Tariq Baker (so. Brooklyn, NY/St. Anthony's) had 11.  Baker and Flanders registered seven and six rebounds respectively.
 
Stockton had a 47-40 lead going into the second half.  Ferebee's three-pointer made the score 55-43 at 18:42. The Ospreys had an 11 point advantage (59-48) after Ferebee's foul shot (15:49).  The Profs followed with an 11-2 run and trailed by two (61-59) with 14:03 remaining. Nick DePersia hit two threes while Curry had one and Dickerson had a jumper.  Williams put Stockton back up by seven (66-59) with a three-pointer at 12:50.  
 
Rowan went ahead 71-68 after a 12-2 spurt that ended at 9:51.  Wright slammed a dunk (10:36) after a steal and Dickerson nailed a jumper (9:51).  Dickerson scored five points in the surge.  The Profs were up by nine (78-69) after Rob DePersia's basket at 7:55.  Flanders's three-point play (6:15) cut the deficit to four (80-76).  Rowan's biggest lead was 13 (99-86) after Wright's layup at the 46 second mark. Stockton answered with seven straight points to trail by six (99-93) with 26 seconds left.  Forward Jordan Taylor (jr. East Orange, NJ/Cicely Tyson) and Williams each sank a three while Hamilton had one point at the line.  
 
Dickerson made one free throw (0:22) and Ferebee scored with a layup (0:05) to end the game.  In the final half, Nick DePersia scored 15 points with five three-pointers.  Wright scored 15 points and had seven rebounds.  
 
Rowan travels to Montclair State University on Saturday Feb. 2 for a 1 p.m. game.
