EWING, NJ – The Rowan University men's basketball team won its sixth straight conference game, 93-82 at The College of New Jersey on Wednesday night.
The Profs remain tied for first place in the conference with New Jersey City University. Both teams are 9-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rowan is 15-4 overall while TCNJ has an 11-7 record with a 7-4 conference mark.
Seven players scored in double figures for the Profs. Guards
Rob DePersia (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) and
DaRon Curry (sr. Deptford, NJ/Phelps School (PA)) each contributed with 16 points. DePersia also totaled six rebounds and five assists. Guard/forward
Ramon Wright (sr. Newark, NJ/Irvington) followed with 12 points and seven boards.

Diante Bah (jr. Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) and guard
Nick DePersia (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) chipped in with 11 points apiece.
Nick DePersia dished six assists. Forward
Austin Kearney (jr. Monroeville, NJ/Gloucester County Christian) and guard
Connor Dickerson (fr. Marlton, NJ/Moorestown) each added 10 points off the bench.
For the Lions, guard Niall Carpenter (jr. Westampton, NJ/Westampton) scored a game-high 26 points. Guard Randall Walko (jr. Somerville, NJ/Somerville) produced 19 points. Forward Ryan Jensen (jr. Brielle NJ/Manasquan) had a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Mike Walley (jr. Yardley, PA/Notre Dame) collected 10 points and five boards.
The Profs started the second half with a three-point advantage (44-41). They then built an 11-point lead (60-49) with a 16-8 run that ended at 14:44. Kearney led the way with seven points while Wright made four.
Nick DePersia and Bah added three and two points respectively. Curry hit two three-pointers and Dickerson had a layup, which made the score 68-51 at 13:02.
Rowan's biggest lead was 19 points (84-65) after a jumper and foul shot by Curry with 4:36 left. TCNJ followed with 12 straight points and trailed by seven (84-77) at 2:07. Walley and Walko each registered five points in the run while Carpenter had two. In the last 1:24, the Profs sealed the victory with seven of eight free throws.
There were eight lead changes in the first half and the score was tied six times. The last tie was at 40 after a three-pointer by Walley (1:23).
Rob DePersia hit a jumper to go ahead 42-40 at 1:14. Dickerson's layup at the 21 second mark, ended the period.
Next, Rowan travels to Ramapo College on Saturday, Jan. 26 for a 3 p.m. game.
