STATEN ISLAND, NY – The Rowan University men's indoor track & field team claimed top times in the NYC Gotham Cup at the Ocean Breeze Track Center on Friday.
Daniel "Fitch" Henry (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) got things started with a third place finish in the mile run with a time of 4:22.88.
Matt Russo (jr. Westfield, NJ/Westfield) followed in the 3000 meters run and ended third overall in 8:48.48.
Kevin Lauer (fr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape),
Jeff Stewart (fr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.),
Josh Munoz (fr. Closter, NJ/Northern Valley Reg. at Demarest) and Fitch took fourth in the 4x800 meter relay in 8:14.73.
Airrion Scott (fr. Trenton, NJ/Ewing) and
Earnest Daniel (so. Woolwich, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) tied for fifth in the high jump, as they both cleared 6' 4.25" (1. 94 m).
Tyler Garland (so. Glassboro, NJ/Deptford Twp.) placed seventh overall in the 60 meter hurdles, with a time of 9.30.
Munoz took seventh in the 1000 meters crossing the finish line in a time of 2:32.81.
Jason Muermann (so. Pitman, NJ/Pitman) finished the 5000 meters run in 15:44.72 and that was good for eighth overall.
Vincent Delle (so. Williamstown, NJ/Old Bridge) claimed 12th in the 400 meters with a time of 50.88.
Shai Mumford(sr. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) placed eighth in the 200 meters in 22.22.
The team consisting of
Spencer Jarrett (fr. Salem, NJ/Salem), Garland, Mumford and Delle came in eighth in the 4x400 meters relay with a time of 3:29.31.
The men's track & field team travels to the Covert Classic at Lehigh University on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m.
