GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men's swimming & diving team won 133-110 over the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday.
The Profs end their dual meet schedule with a 9-1 record. Seniors
Eric Feuerstein (sr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit),
Colin Fisher (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee),
Nick Marte (sr. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn),
Sean Piacente (sr. New City, NY/Clarkstown S.),
John Shellem (sr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) and
John Tepper (sr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Atlantic County Institute of Tech.) were honored prior to the start of the meet.
The 200 freestyle relay of Feuerstein,
Dylan Regan (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.),
Jake Kayati (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Woodstown) and
Kevin Gillooly (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) took first place in 1:25.31. The 400 medley relay finished second (3:33.17) with Fisher,
Oliver Cruz (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Franklin), Kayati and
Nate Wojtowicz (jr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County).
Feuerstein captured first place in the 50 (21.60) and 100 (46.50) free.
Kyle Printon (fr. Somerset, NJ/Bishop George Ahr) won (10:03.42) the 1000 freestyle and Tepper touched first (4:51.84) in the 500 freestyle.
Youssef Elshenawy (fr. Bayonne, NJ/Saint Peter's Prep.) was the winner (1:56.57) in the 200 butterfly.
Piacente totaled 301.80 points in the one-meter diving for first place. He also took first (327.00) on the three-meter board.
Mike Grubb (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) finished second in the one-meter (293.15) and three-meter (292.20).
Chad Shire (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) was third (288.95) in the three-meter diving and he had a fifth place (241.35) on the one-meter board.
Wojtowicz came in second (21.80) in the 50 free. Gillooly had a second place (1:54.67) in the 200 backstroke.
Cam Sexauer (jr. Pittsburgh, PA/Mount Lebanon) finished second (1:52.70) in the 200 freestyle while
Dom Merighi (so. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) and
Steven Nguyen (fr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) were third (1:52.72) and fourth (1:53.15) respectively. Sexauer took fourth (5:02.46) in the 500 freestyle.
Shellem had a third place (2:01.63) in the 200 butterfly. Regan came in third (48.86) in the 100 freestyle.
Matt Grubb (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) took third (2:11.44) in the 200 breaststroke.
