BETHLEHEM, PA – The Rowan University men's track & field team competed on the second day of the Fast Times Before Finals meet on Saturday. This event was held by Lehigh University and there was no team scoring.
Earnest Daniel (so. Woolwich, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) placed first in the triple jump with a distance of 45' 1.50" (13.75 m) and second in the high jump, clearing 6' 4.75" (1.95 m).
John Owens (fr. Newnan, GA/West Windsor-Plainsboro N. (NJ)) finished second in the long jump, leaping 22' 8" (6.91 m) and sixth in the triple jump (41' 2.25", 12.55 m).
In the 200 meters,
Shai Mumford (sr. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) claimed second with a time of 22.52, followed by
Spencer Jarrett (fr. Salem, NJ/Salem) who came in third (22.92). Jarrett also earned sixth in the 60 meters (7.19).
Justin Bishop (so. Somers Point, NJ/Mainland Reg.) and
Vincent Delle (so. Williamstown, NJ/Old Bridge) placed seventh (1:09.32) and eighth (1:09.80) in the 500 meters respectively.
The 4x400 meter relay team made up of
Tyler Garland (so. Glassboro, NJ/Deptford Twp.), Owens, Delle and Bishop finished second in a time of 3:26.53.
Tariq Hills (so. Hainesport, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) took eighth in the shot put, throwing 44 '6" (13.56 m).
Airrion Scott (fr. Trenton, NJ/Ewing) and
Cam Daley (jr. Canton, CT/Canton) competed in the heptathlon which was held on Friday and Saturday. Scott placed seventh overall with 3, 979 points and Daley was eighth with 3, 774 points. Scott's best finish came in the high jump, as he claimed third clearing 6' 3.50" (1.92 m). He also took fourth in the 1000 meters run (2:53.85), fifth in the in the long jump (20' 5", 6.22 m) and seventh in the 60 meters (7.51). Daley had his best finish in the shot put throwing 35' 8.50" (10.88 m), which was good for third overall. He also earned seventh in the 60 meter hurdles (9.92), pole vault (10' 2.75", 3.12 m) and in the 1000 meters (3:03.18).
Liam Cunningham (so. West Orange, NJ/West Orange) and
Esteban Delgado (fr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) ran in the 1000 meters and were 12th and 13th with times of 2:39.42 and 2:40.42 respectively.
The Rowan men's track & field team is back in action on Friday, Jan. 19, at the NYC Gotham Cup, starting at 2 p.m.
