Stockton Men's Basketball Wins 67-58 Over Visiting Rowan

GALLOWAY, NJ – The Stockton University men's basketball team won 67-58 over visiting Rowan University on Wednesday night.
 
Forward Steve Ferebee (jr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) led the Ospreys with 18 points and seven rebounds.  Forward Jordan Taylor (jr. East Orange, NJ/Cicely Tyson) totaled 12 points while guards Brandon Hamilton (jr. Camden, NJ/Paulsboro) and Keenan Williams (sr. Paulsboro, NJ/Paulsboro) each had 11.  Williams also chipped in with 11 boards. 
 
Guard Nick DePersia (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) scored 22 points for the Profs.  Guard Connor Dickerson (fr. Marlton, NJ/Moorestown) contributed with 12 points and forward Marko Pantovic (so. Belgrade, Servia/Zemun) followed with 11. Forward Teirique Robinson (sr. Willingboro, NJ/Willingboro) grabbed nine rebounds while Pantovic had eight. 
 
Stockton improves to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rowan has a 4-3 record with a 2-2 conference mark.
 
The Ospreys had an eight point lead (29-21) to start the second half. Stockton was ahead 34-31 at 17:05. Rowan scored six straight points for a three-point advantage (37-34) at 14:06.  DePersia, guard/forward Ramon Wright (sr. Newark, NJ/Irvington) and Dickerson all had one basket.  Taylor's jumper (12:30) tied the score at 39.  
 
Stockton compiled 13 unanswered points, which made the score 52-39 at 8:10.  Ferebee produced seven points in the run.  Pantovic hit a three-pointer (5:05) and the Profs trailed by eight points (52-44). It was the closed they came for the remainder of the game.  The Ospreys followed with a 12-4 surge to go up by 16 points (64-48) with 2:02 left. DePersia cut the deficit to nine (67-58) at the end of the game with a jump shot and free throw (0:18).  He totaled 19 points in the second half.          
 
In the first stanza, the score was tied three times and there was only one lead change.  Hamilton's jumper at 11:52 knotted the score at 12.  Taylor nailed a three-pointer (10:41) and the Ospreys never trailed for the remainder of the period.  Williams' basket at 6:24 made the score 26-16.  Pantovic answered with a three (5:30) and two foul shots (3:16).  Taylor drilled a three (2:10) to end the scoring and Stockton was ahead 29-21 at the intermission.
 
Next, Rowan hosts conference opponent Ramapo College on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m.
