GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's basketball team outlasted a fourth quarter comeback by Immaculata University to win, 62-59 on Wednesday. 
 
The Profs are now 7-4 on the season and the Mighty Macs have a record of 4-7. 
 
Forward 
Jazlyn Duverglas (fr. Hammonton, NJ/Cedar Creek) scored a career-high 13 points including three three-pointers and had seven rebounds. Guard 
Kennedy Brown (fr. Newark, DE/The Tatnall School) recorded 12 points, while guard 
Olivia Rulon (sr. Cape May Court House, NJ/Wildwood Catholic) had nine. Guards 
Alexis Kriley (so. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) and 
Dominique Peters (jr. Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrence) each chipped in eight points. Center 
Ayanna Johnson (fr. Ewing, NJ/The Pennington School) tallied five rebounds and forward 
Kailyn Sytsma (jr. Northvale, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) dished five assists. 
 
For Immaculata, guard Theresa Kearney (so. Drexel Hill, PA/Archbishop Carroll) had a game-high 19 points and six boards. Forward Natalie Ayoub (so. Broomall, PA/Marple Newtown) contributed 11 points and seven rebounds. Guard Meghan Ricker (fr. Holmes, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) produced eight points, while guard Shannon Kelly (so. Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Wood) and forward Brielle Rigo (so. Northampton, PA/Northampton) notched seven apiece. 
 
Rowan led by 13 points (48-35) at the start of the fourth quarter. After two free throws from Kriley, the Mighty Macs scored seven straight to cut the margin to single digits (50-42) (7:11). Kearney scored five points and Kelly notched two. The Profs grew the lead to 10 (54-44) after a layup from Duverglas (5:33). Immaculata trailed by six (54-48) after back-to-back layups from guard Annie Kohutka (jr. Gilbertsville, PA/Pope John Paul II) (5:18) and Kearney (4:46). The Brown and Gold brought the lead back to 10 after Sytsma nailed a free throw (2:06). The Mighty Macs retaliated but fell short after Duverglas nailed a pair of free throws (:27) to put the game out of reach, 62-59. 
 
Rowan started hot building a 15-8 advantage over Immaculata through the first 10 minutes of play. The Mighty Macs outscored the Profs 7-2 to trail 17-15 in the second (6:59). The Brown and Gold responded with a six point swing to pull away (23-15) (5:31). Both sides traded baskets for the remainder of the quarter, but Duverglas hit a basket from beyond the arc for a 32-23 lead heading into halftime. 
 
Rowan outscored the Immaculata in the third frame 16-12 to have a 48-35 advantage going into the final stanza.
 
The women's basketball team travels to Naples, Florida, for the Naples Shootout where it will face Drew University on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 3 p.m.
