GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's swimming and diving team had a 143-79 win over William Paterson University on Friday night.
The women are 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The 200 medley relay took first place in 1:53.62 with
Abigail Brous (so. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford),
Emily Kopchick (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.),
Jordan Jones (fr. Somerset, NJ/Homeschooled) and
Antonia Simunek (so. Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway).
Miranda Coughlan (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.),
Elizabeth O'Brien (so. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.), Simunek and
Kylie Salerno (fr. Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) were on the winning 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:45.39.
Brous was the winner (1:00.25) in the 100 butterfly while Kopchick had a first place (1:09.41) in the 100 breaststroke. Coughlan finished first (1:59.11) in the 200 freestyle.
Carlee Timmins (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) came in first in the 1000 freestyle (10:41.17) while
Veronica Alferez (so. Elmwood Park, NJ/Elmwood Park Mem.) won the 500 free (5:28.14).
Megan Miller (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) touched first (55.91) in the 100 freestyle.
O'Brien was the winner (2:16.56) in the 200 individual medley,
Gabby Gligor (sr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) took second (2:21.39) and Jones was third (2:21.79).
Daria Mnich (jr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) swam a winning time of 1:02.63 in the 100 backstroke.
Corinne Finkbinder (jr. Moorestown) totaled 243.68 points in the one-meter diving for first place. She also took first (255.08) in the three-meter diving.
Kelly McQueston (so. Malvern, PA/Great Valley) had a second place (271.58) in the one-meter diving.
In the 200 free,
Emily LaBenski (jr. Wenonah, NJ/Deptford Twp.) was second (2:02.23) followed by Brous, third (2:05.61).
Erin Quay (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) had a second place (27.14) in the 50 free.
Rowan travels to Ramapo College on Saturday, November 10 for a 2 p.m. conference meet.
