GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men's swimming & diving team defeated conference opponent William Paterson University, 159-66 on Friday night.
The Profs have a 3-1 record with a 2-0 conference mark.
Steven Nguyen (so. Galloway, NJ/Absegami),
Noah Shepard (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.),
Dave Smits (sr. Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills) and
Nate Wojtowicz (sr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County) were on the winning 200 medley relay (1:40.30). The 400 freestyle relay of
Jake Kayati (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Woodstown),
Kevin Gillooly (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.), Matt Maretic (fr. Closter, NJ/Northern Valley Reg. at Demarest) and Wojtowicz took first in 3:13.05.
Cam Sexauer (sr. Pittsburgh, PA/Mount Lebanon) was the winner (10:47.80) in the 1000 freestyle. Gillooly swam a winning time of 52.62 in the 100 butterfly. He also won (1:45.57) the 200 free.. Kayati was the winner (55.98) in the 100 backstroke and was second (1:48.42) in the 200 free.
Smits came in first (22.52) in the 50 free followed by
Dan Lawton (sr. Yardley, PA/Pennsbury), second (22.80).
Aaron Schiff (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) had a first place (49.98) in the 100 free and he was third (2:10.09) in the 200 individual medley.
Matt Grubb (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) came in first (58.06) in the 100 breaststroke.
Chad Shire (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) captured first place in the one and three-meter diving with 320.70 and 329.85 points respectively.
Christian Termine (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) was second (222.68) in the one-meter diving.
In the 200 individual medley, Maretic and
Greg Cann (fr. Woodbury Heights, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) were first (2:04.15) and second (2:07.40) respectively. Maretic also had a first place (5:00.27) in the 500 freestyle. In the 1000 freestyle,
Tanner Debus (fr. Fort Mill, SC/Nation Ford) and Shepard finished second (10:54.23) and third (11:03.12) respectively.
Rowan travels to Ramapo College on Saturday, Nov. 10 for a 2 p.m. meet.
