Results
UNION, NJ – The Rowan University women's swim team won 147-41 at Kean University on Thursday evening.
The Profs finished first in both relays and the nine individual events. The women are 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Abigail Brous (so. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford),
Megan Miller (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.),
Annalise Giuliano (fr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) and
Antonia Simunek (so. Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) made up the winning 400 medley relay (4:23.06). The 200 freestyle relay touched first in 1:43.86 with Brous, Simunek,
Elizabeth O'Brien (so. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.) and
Miranda Coughlan (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.).
Carlee Timmins (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry E.) claimed first place in the 1000 (11:00.04) and 100 (57.65) freestyles. Coughlan finished first (1:02.91) in the 100 backstroke.
Alex Bambrick took first place (5:23.15) in the 500 freestyle.
Simunek was the winner (2:09.15) in the 200 freestyle and
Claire McKissick (jr. Ellicott City, MD/Archbishop Spalding) followed second (2:11.71). In the 50 free,
Daria Mnich (jr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) and Giuliano were first (26.82) and second (27.19) respectively.
Kylie Salerno (fr. Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) had a second place (58.56) in the 100 free.
O'Brien took first (2:19.09) in the 200 individual medley while Miller came in second (2:23.93) and
Emily Kopchick (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) was third (2:24.29). Brous won the 100 butterfly in 1:01.31.
Emily LaBenski (jr. Wenonah, NJ/Deptford Twp.) finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:11.27. She had a second place (1:03.65) in the 100 butterfly and
Veronica Alferez (so. Elmwood Park, NJ/Elmwood Park Mem.) was third (1:04.45). LaBenski also took third (59.12) in the 100 free. Alferez finished second (1:06.79) in the 100 backstroke and
Bailey Howarth (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) was third (1:07.66). Howarth came in second in the 1000 freestyle (11:30.47).
Rowan returns home on Friday, November 9 against William Paterson University at 5 p.m.
