GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan men's swim team defeated Arcadia University, 137-68 on Thursday night.
Rowan took first place (1:34.44) in the 200 medley relay with
Dan Lawton (sr. Yardley, PA/Pennsbury),
Matt Grubb (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.),
Jake Kayati (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Woodstown) and
Kevin Gillooly (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.). Gillooly,
Dylan Regan (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.), Lawton and
Nate Wojtowicz (sr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County) were on the winning (1:26.87) 200 freestyle relay.
The Profs are 1-1 on the season while the Knights have a 2-1 record.
Wojtowicz came in first (22.20) in the 50 free while Gillooly won (47.20) the 100 freestyle. Kayati took first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:02.27.
Kyle Printon (so. Somerset, NJ/Bishop George Ahr) swam 1:47.25 in the 200 freestyle for first place. He also had a third place (2:03.92) in the 200 butterfly.
Lawton was the winner (2:02.16) in the 200 backstroke followed by
Matt Smits (so. Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills), second (2:05.90) and
Christian Termine (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.), third (2:09.64). Grubb finished first (2:12.53) in the 200 breaststroke.
Kevin Yanagisawa (fr. Woodbridge, CT/Amity Reg.) took first place (4:53.84) in the 500 freestyle. In the 400 individual medley, Yanagisawa and
Tanner Debus (fr. Fort Mill, SC/Nation Ford) were second (4:24.48) and third (4:30.87) respectively. Debus also finished fourth (2:07.25) in the 200 butterfly. Regan came in third (49.83) in the 100 free.
Dave Smits (sr. Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills) took second (22.36) in the 50 free.
Greg Cann (fr. Woodbury Heights, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) finished third (2:17.69) in the 200 breaststroke. Matt Maretic (fr. Closter, NJ/Northern Valley Reg. at Demarest) had a third place (10:37.73) in the 1000 freestyle while
Noah Shepard (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) and
Dom Merighi (jr. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) were fourth (10:56.45) and fifth (11:05.87) respectively.
Next week, Rowan travels to Montclair State University on Saturday, Nov. 3 for the first conference meet at 1 p.m.
