Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men's soccer team won 6-0 versus visiting New Jersey City University in the first New Jersey Athletic Conference match of the season on Saturday night.
 
The Profs have a 6-2 record while the Gothic Knights are 3-2-1 overall.
 
Rowan tallied three goals in each half. Forwards Matt Hendrickson (so. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.), Burak Ozdemir (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and Blake Czajkowski (so. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.), midfielder Modou Sowe (so. Harrison, NJ/Harrison) and backs Brian Dziobak (jr. Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.) and Nick Schlageter (so. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) all hit the back of the net.
 
Back Will Sjaastad (jr. Allentown, NJ/Allentown) notched two assists. Forwards Shane Doherty (jr. Delran, NJ/Delran) and Zack Sakena (jr. Ocean View, NJ/Ocean City), midfielders Tyler Logar (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and Kevin Pereira (jr. Allentown, NJ/Allentown), back Matt Fahey (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and Dziobak registered one assist apiece.
 
Goalkeeper Erik Checkur (jr. Wantage, NJ/High Point Reg.) made two saves for his first shutout. NJCU goalie Aldahir Cazun (fr. Jersey City, NJ/Dickinson) stopped 13 shots.
 
The Profs wrap up a four-game home stand on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. against Franklin & Marshall College.
