GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men's swim team won its fourth straight meet with a 186-76 victory against Ramapo College.
The Profs are 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rowan took first in the 200 medley relay in 1:36.66 with Kevin Gillooly (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.), Matt Grubb (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.),
Nick Marte (sr. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) and
Eric Feuerstein (sr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit). The 400 freestyle relay swam a winning time of 3:11.91. The relay included
John Tepper (sr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Atlantic County Institute of Tech,), Feuerstein, Kyle Printon (fr. Somerset, NJ/Bishop George Ahr) and Marc Gernhardt (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee).
The Profs won 10 of the 12 individual events. Tepper had first place finishes in the 500 (4:50.06) and 1000 (9:56.82) freestyles. Feuerstein claimed first in the 50 (21.48) and 200 (1:45.77) freestyles. Grubb was the winner in the 100 (59.66) and 200 (2:15.42) breaststrokes. Matt Schillaci (so. Sicklerville, NJ/Glassboro) took first (2:00.14) in the 200 individual medley.
Gernhardt was the winner (49.05) in the 100 free and he was second (1:50.63) in the 200 freestyle. In the 200 butterfly, Youssef Elshenawy (fr. Bayonne, NJ/Saint Peter's Prep) finished first (1:55.90) followed by Printon, second (1:59.83) and
John Shellem (sr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape), third (2:06.62). Elshenawy took third (2:04.02) in the 200 individual medley. Oliver Cruz (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Franklin) won (52.03) the 100 butterfly.
Colin Fisher (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) finished second (1:59.64) in the 200 backstroke (1:59.64) and 200 individual medley (2:00.38). Printon had a second place (4:50.58) in the 500 freestyle and Matt Smits (fr. Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills) came in second (10:16.93) in the 1000 freestyle. Jake Kayati (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Woodstown) and Nate Wojtowicz (jr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County) were second (21.99) and third (22.11) respectively in the 50 free. Kayati was also second (52.39) in the 100 butterfly.
Wojtowicz took second (49.11) in the 100 freestyle and Marte was third (49.26). Steven Nguyen (fr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) had a third place (56.12) in the 100 backstroke.
