Nick Schlageter (so. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) each registered an assist. Doherty and Logar set up the tying goal. Forward
Ryan Campbell (jr. Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) had a diving header (49:46) after a cross from Doherty.
The Profs are 12-2 overall and 4-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rowan is ranked 10
th in the nation this week and first in the South Atlantic Region. The Red Hawks have a 9-4-1 record with a 3-2 conference mark.
Goalie
Erik Checkur (jr. Wantage, NJ/High Point Reg.) stopped six shots for his eighth victory on the season. For Montclair State, goalkeeper Mike Saalfrank (jr. Ramsey, NJ/Ramsey) compiled 12 saves. The Profs ended the game with 23 total shots while the Red Hawks had 15.
Montclair State got on the scoreboard first (37:41) when forward Chaz Burnett (fr. Glen Ridge, NJ/Glen Ridge) headed in a corner kick by midfielder Jake Seaman (jr. Montclair, NJ/Montclair). Back
Modou Sowe (so. Harrison, NJ/Harrison) tied the score when he headed in Logar's cross from the left side. The Red Hawks took the lead again when midfielder Mike Taranto (sr. Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) hit the net (49:29) with a free kick.
Next week, Rowan travels to conference opponent Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday, Oct. 11 for a 7 p.m. contest.
